German-African Energy Forum 2024

NABA members are invited to take part when our sister association, German-African Business Association, are organizing their 17th German-African Energy Forum in May 2024: “Africa’s energy roadmap: Breaking new grounds for green(er) economies”

The forum aims to identify new and re-defined action points for a strong and future-oriented African energy partnership fostering Africa’s energy potential and promoting a global energy dialogue on equal terms and with equal benefits. Key topics that will be addressed in the upcoming edition are:

•    Transition Financing & framework
•    Energy storage
•    Value addition
•    Africa’s climate action
•    Renewable energies
•    Infrastructure
•    Hydrogen
•    Innovation and digital solutions

Besides the Opening Speech of State Secretary Anja Hajduk of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the following high-ranking African delegates have confirmed their participation so far:

-    Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister of Energy, Ghana
-    Hon. Mohamed Oun, Minister of Oil and Gas, Libya
-    Hon. Puot Kang Chol, Minister of Petroleum, South Sudan
-    Hon. Moheddine Naeem Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Energy and Mining, Sudan
-    Hon. Peter Kapala, M.P., Minister of Energy, Zambia

Furthermore, the Ministries of Energy in Burkina Faso, Djibouti and Egypt as well as H.E. Dr Amani Abou-Zeid, AU Commissioner for Infrastructure, Energy, ICT and Tourism have shown strong interest to join the event.
